Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 July 2026
Welcome to OncoLinks (“we”, “us”, “our”), a digital platform that connects patients, medics, donors, institutions, and administrators to coordinate oncology treatment funding, in-kind medical donations, campaign sharing, matching, and related accountability workflows. By creating an account or using OncoLinks, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
1. Who these terms apply to
These Terms apply to all users, including patients, medics/oncologists, individual and corporate donors, hospitals/clinics (institutions), system administrators, and visitors of public pages (for example campaign share pages and certificate verification).
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity under your account.
- Some roles (for example System Admin, Medic, Institution, Patient, Corporate Donor) may require activation by an authorised administrator or linked medic before full access is granted.
- The first registered user may be designated Super Admin for platform bootstrap; thereafter role assignments follow OncoLinks access-control rules.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or donation accountability rules.
3. Platform purpose and medical disclaimer
OncoLinks facilitates coordination, fundraising transparency, donation matching, and reporting. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not replace clinical judgement, licensed medical practice, pharmacy regulation, or hospital protocols. Always follow advice from qualified health professionals and applicable Kenyan health laws and professional standards.
4. Campaigns, donations, and accountability
- Patient campaigns generally require linked medic approval before a public QR / share page is published.
- Donors may contribute money (payment providers may be stubbed or integrated over time) or pledge in-kind resources (drugs, food, machinery, other).
- In-kind donors may set conditions (for example shipping or storage responsibilities). Recipients must confirm need, capacity, and non-wastage commitments before fulfilment proceeds.
- Recipients may be required to confirm receipt and submit utilisation reports (including patients served in aggregate, without unnecessary patient identifiers).
- Repeated wastage incidents may trigger strikes, temporary restrictions, or suspension, subject to appeal and admin review.
- Donation certificates and leaderboards are integrity tools; misuse, misrepresentation, or fraudulent claims are prohibited.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or infringing content.
- Impersonate another person or facility, or misrepresent licensing/credentials.
- Attempt unauthorised access, scrape, disrupt, or reverse engineer the service except as allowed by law.
- Use the platform to solicit or transfer regulated medical products in breach of Kenyan law, Pharmacy and Poisons Board rules, or export/import controls.
- Disclose other patients’ confidential health information beyond what they choose to share or what law permits.
6. Intellectual property
OncoLinks branding, software, and content we create are owned by us or our licensors. You retain rights in content you submit, and grant us a limited licence to host and display it to operate the platform (for example campaign stories and donation certificates).
7. Third-party services
We may use processors such as Firebase Authentication / Firestore (Google), hosting, email delivery, analytics, or payment gateways. Their terms and privacy notices also apply to the extent they process your data on our behalf.
8. Availability and changes
We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update features or these Terms; material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notifying registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, OncoLinks is provided “as is”. We are not liable for clinical outcomes, donor–recipient disputes over logistics, or losses arising from user-generated content or third-party payment failures, except where liability cannot be limited by law (including fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence where applicable).
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Courts in Kenya have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer or data-protection rights. Privacy complaints may also be raised with the ODPC as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Contact
For terms questions: use in-app admin contact or email the address published on your deployed OncoLinks instance. For privacy rights requests, see the Privacy Policy.
